State School Profile Reports 349 Pupils at Highlands Elementary in 2025–26

SAN MATEO HIGHLANDS, San Mateo County — California Department of Education records show Highlands Elementary School in unincorporated San Mateo Highlands enrolled 349 students in the 2025–26 school year.

The state school profile identifies 68 of those pupils, approximately 19.5 percent, as English learners. The school is at 2320 Newport Street and serves kindergarten through fifth grade as part of the San Mateo–Foster City School District. The state directory lists the school as active, with Karrie Haselton as principal at the time of its August 2026 update.

These are official figures for the completed 2025–26 school year, not a real-time count of students currently attending in November. The term ‘English learner’ is an educational service designation; it does not establish any child’s nationality or immigration status.
