SAN MATEO HIGHLANDS, San Mateo County — Highlands Recreation District has published its fall 2026 schedule for the neighborhood pool at 1851 Lexington Avenue, giving San Mateo Highlands residents and visitors a place to swim throughout the week.
Under the hours in effect since August 17, weekday lap swimming runs from 7:30 to 11:45 a.m. and again from 6 to 8 p.m. Open swim is scheduled on weekdays from 1 to 4:45 p.m., Saturdays from noon to 4 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday lap swim is scheduled from 9 to 11:45 a.m. Recreational and lap sessions are offered without advance reservation under current pool rules.
The district lists a $7 drop-in fee for qualifying Highlands residents and $15 for nonresidents, with separate punch-card prices. Its website also warns that the baby pool and rock climbing walls are closed until further notice. Do not assume every amenity mentioned in older promotional materials is currently usable.
What residents should know
Before visiting, check the latest district schedule for changes caused by holidays, staffing or maintenance and verify residency documentation if using a resident rate. The district’s contact number is 650-341-4251.
